Do not give yourself away

I've come to many realizations with the last year. Many understandings of why I intentionally distract myself with the mundane. It's amazing how the past can resonate its teachings so strongly and mysteriously every single day we breathe.

I find that I don't even know my own thoughts because so many feelings inside me (feelings that are not even my own) are constantly influencing me.

Now, it appears that I am open and brave enough to look within and find the fragments of my true self throughout the tapestry of old ways of feeling.

Today, I see my yesterdays, so many memories I've fought to shed. But I know now that they will always stay with me and what I really need to do is understand how I felt and not keep them hidden from my sight.

To forgive the ones that are truly to blame, and forgive myself for being a part of it. To forgive and let go. To invite the new. The fresh. I am trusting my future to lead me towards light. And to trust my experiences to come, I must first trust myself and the universe. I pray to be guided to where my light can flourish and my love can endure. I choose the happiness of life. I choose to fulfill my own love by loving others as well as myself.  And through that love, I wish to show others what love truly is.

If everyone simply loved themselves, then love could so easily be shared with everyone else. And that love could continue on, expanding to become so much more.

Life could be lived in such a deeper way.

There is so much more.

Cherokee Legend
Do you know the legend of the Cherokee Indian youth's rite of Passage?
I found it to be very interesting.

His father takes him into the forest, blind folds him and leaves him alone.

He is required to sit on a stump the whole night and not remove the
blindfold until the rays of the morning sun shine through it. He cannot
cry out for help to anyone. Once he survives the night, he is a MAN.

He cannot tell the other boys of this experience, because each lad
must come into manhood on his own.

The boy is naturally terrified. He can hear all kinds of noises.

Wild beasts must surely be all around him. Maybe even some
human might do him harm. The wind blew the grass and earth,
and shook his stump, but he sat stoically, never removing the
blindfold.

It would be the only way he Finally, after a horrific
night the sun appeared and he removed his blindfold.
It was then that he discovered his father sitting on the
stump next to him. He had been at watch the entire night,
protecting his son from harm.

We, too, are never alone. Even when we don't know it,
our Heavenly Father is watching over us, sitting on the
stump beside us. When trouble comes, all we have to
do is reach out to Him.

To believe in Yourself
"When you are inspired by some great purpose, some extraordinary project, all your thoughts break through bonds. Your mind transends limitations, your consciousness expands, and you find yourself in a great and wonderful world. Dormant forces emerge and talents become aligned, and you discover yourself to be a greater person by far than you ever dreamed yourself to be."

SHAPING THE FUTURE
SHAPING THE FUTURE
by Lynne Franks, Founder of SEED

As women, we are traditionally the caretakers of our culture. Our responsibility is to understand and somehow make sure that the changes that are happening in our world preserve the basic humanity in us all. By connecting with the principles of the sacred feminine, such as those found in ancient matriarchal civilizations, a more nurturing society can evolve- one that abhors violence; advocates such values as justice, compassion and love; and raises its children to reach their full potential as human beings.

When people talk with such idealism they are often accused of being naïve. How can we change a world that’s solidly entrenched in the way of competition, domination, and violence? My answer is that without creating the vision, nothing can be achieved. And without having the intention for that change in our hearts, we will find ourselves living in a world that perpetuates everything that goes against our feminine sensibilities.

If we’re talking about getting rid of the old, outdated patriarchal ways of running the world, it’s essential to present a pragmatic vision of what we want to replace it with. We need an overall blueprint of what a new world, based on principles of the sacred feminine, would look like and how it would work. The primary foundation for such a world is cooperation. First and foremost, it’s cooperation between male and female. As women, we know that the best and most efficient way to get things done is to work together, and that means living and working with men in harmonious coexistence, valuing the perspectives and strengths of both sexes, and creating a higher quality of life for us. It must also be a world of cooperation between business and community, human beings and the planet, national governments and nongovernmental organisations, young and old, spirituality and science, and our inner and outer selves.

The opportunity to create this world does exist now. It is possible to create a society where we can bring people together and heal our families, our communities, and our world. To do so would take a new breed of leaders, ones who aren’t tied to the old way of doing things. Rather than money or power, these leaders must have spiritual values to guide them. And since spiritual values are at our core, it is vitally important for women to step up and take the lead in this transformation of society.

"Apparent distinctions among things exist only in our minds. For example, in the sky there is no distinction of east and west. People create such distinctions and then believe them to be true. We do the same in everyday life- making distinctions, such as "us" and "them," where none exist and believe them to be real."

New Image
LionHeartLife appears throughout the universe wherever conditions are right, much as waves appear in the ocean when windy conditions arise. As a wave is simply an individual expression of the greater ocean, so too are we expressions of the greater life of the universe.

This is my first blog entry, so I thought I'd give everyone my artist statement just to show what I love to do.

Artist Statement

"A picture is literally worth a thousand words. My words can only come to you one at a time, but a picture enters the mind instantly. Transmitting a meaning through an image is really an amazing alternative to speaking. With images, you can communitcate more in less time, often with less misconception. Thinking in images is a function of the right side of the brain and brings a balance to the cognitive and logical process of the left side of the brain that we use almost all the time.

Now, the levels of consciousness inside nature itself are so vast, there's no way we can understand or even see them all. But when to halves of an image, two halves of life, are created and seen as one, you can begin to see the sacred architecture of nature itself. Through visual meditations, it's possible that your psyche can begin to move through actual portals between the physical and the spiritual.

What is amazing is that everyone who views these images sees and expirences something different. What I see can be completely different than what you see. But that is the nature of these images. Just as in life, we all see and expirence something different and we often want to share and relate with others our thoughts, feelings, and even religious beliefs. These images seem to express all of that.

Once viewing them, they immediately give us a certain feeling. Then logic comes in and we express what we think and feel. And then depending on what we personally see, whether they be angels, Buddhas, fairies, ancient Aztec temples, dragons or Egyptian gods, some sort of religious belief is expressed and even revealed.

Why? Why does it just appear that way? Why does it seem like it's all here, in these pictures? I think that those answers are revealed within each image if we only choose to see it.

So, if one picture is really worth a thousand words, then these images can also give merit to a thousand religions.

They show us that all religions are, and should always be, of ultimate oneness...

We all come from the same place.

...Therefore the process of deep self-reflection begins in the center of all life,
between mind and heart."
